Jen Louden is a bestselling author, coach and speaker who provides women with the information, inspiration, and tools to create lives they love.

The Comfort Cafe and Life Spa is her latest venture – a membership site where people can find rest and inspiration. Members can download recordings, take part in the month's activities, or just hang out on the forums with other members.

Jen's other sites are built with WordPress, and she was keen to use it for the Cafe too. We used various plugins to achieve the functionality she wanted, most notable the Simple Press forum plugin. On the technical side, I collaborated with Dave Navarro, who connected the site to aMember and PayPal.

Designwise, Jen wanted the site to feel like a very cozy place to hang out. In particular, she wanted it to feel as much as possible like a cozy room, and we had tons of fun finding ways to do this. She loved the work of Claudine Hellmuth, and asked her to create some 'poppets', little ladies enjoying the comfort spa, and I created a design around those.
